LaSalle Ontario: The Town of LaSalle is one of eight municipalities of which make up Essex County. The Town of LaSalle borders not only the City of Windsor but also the towns of Amherstburg and Tecumseh, allowing you to easily access the advantages of each one. LaSalle, among one of the oldest French Settlement areas in Southwestern Ontario, named after the explorer Rene-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle, consisting of 25 square miles.
The town’s riverfront land, marinas, forested areas, golf courses and bike trails also provide an excellent way to enjoy the outdoors, and indoor sports facilities, community centres and a wealth of shopping and other entertainment options ensure that you can find recreation that fits you in LaSalle.
Today the Town of LaSalle is a rapidly urbanizing municipality with a current population of 32,000 under taking new urban development design concepts, encompassing large green area space for parks and recreational neighborhood enjoyment. The Town of LaSalle is known as a wooded community, with an abundance of locally significant areas 
covered with Carolinian forests, provincially significant wetlands and tall grass prairie communities. The LaSalle Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex, 120,000 square feet in size erected in 2008, serves as a common hub for social and culture needs for all of LaSalle's residents. The town of LaSalle has recently acquired the former West Port Marina abutting Gil Maure Park providing for 141 municipal boat wells on over 42 acres of marina and waterfront park including a fishery spawning park on the Detriot River.
